Folk-tronic Trio Olive Tiger Releases “Dark”

In anticipation of their debut album set to be released in July, folk-tronic group Olive Tiger has premiered their latest single, “Dark,” exclusively on GroundSounds.
“‘Dark’ is an exultation of all the twinkly serendipity and impossible beauty of the late-night hours between 1am-5am, when everything is bursting open and simultaneously subdued in a quiet riot and the mind shifts to accommodate possibility and magic,” said lead vocalist Olive. “As a musician, these hours are precious to me and represent a connection to another sphere, like an alternate reality, in which creativity flows and my muse is never far. But the song is also about experiencing the abrupt juxtaposition between that world and the morning, when the bustle of ‘normal’ life resumes and the connection dissipates.”
“Dark” represents the second offering from the upcoming Until My Body Breaks, following “Find Myself” released earlier this year. The band has been noticed for their unique sound, relying on the strings of Olive, violin of Jesse Newman, and drums of Dane Scozzare. Per the New Haven Independent, the stylings of Olive’s vocals “recall Florence Welch, Fiona Apple, Andrew Bird, and Iron & Wine.”
You can hear “Dark” at GroundSounds now. Until My Body Breaks is scheduled for a summer release.
