Exclusive Interview with Below Deck Mediterranean’s Danny Zureikat

Danny Zureikat is one of Below Deck’s enthusiastic deck hands. Danny has an infectious smile and has an earnest desire to learn and do whatever is asked of him. He has gotten himself in trouble a few times with the ladies, but is always hard at work the following day! Read our interview below as we discuss his relationship with Jen, his previous charters, and what he “nerds out” about.
How was your first season on Below Deck? Everything you expected?
(laughs) Despite all the drama that comes with the territory of being on a reality show, I really did not know what to expect. However, it was a great experience. I got to work on a super-mega yacht, travel to beautiful destinations, and meet exceptional people. It was a profound experience that I would certainly do again.
What was it like on deck the first couple of days?
It was an exciting time in which I was getting acclimated to a new environment and getting to know my coworkers. The days were long and physically demanding, but it was worth it to please our charter guests.
Had you watched any of the previous seasons?
Yes, I have seen all the previous seasons of Below Deck. I have always been a fan of Rocky. She’s unique, charismatic, and has a little bit of a wild side.
What episode or charter are you most excited for fans to see?
Charter five in Mykonos. The city was beautiful, the guests were happy, and I felt as if things were going my way. It was nothing but positive energy, which invigorates me! I’m excited for the fans to watch the episode.
You seem like a really honest guy, how is it working on a charter with Jen who as we’ve seen is a bit sneakier?
Thank you! I appreciate that. Honesty is inherent to me. That’s one of the reasons I enjoyed working with Jen. She’s genuine and hard-working. You must be confusing her “sneakiness” with another deckhand 😉
Did you know anyone from the crew before this charter?
Ironically enough, I met Ben by coincidence during the same time I was deciding if I would do the show. He provided me some really great insight and perspective which ultimately aided me in the decision-making process.
What can we look forward to seeing on this season of Below Deck?
There are many sides to me that haven’t been shown yet. You’ll see everything from fights to personal struggles. The cameras captured my highs, lows, and everything in between.
Our site is called Talk Nerdy With Us, so what do you “nerd out” about?
I’m a lover of everything technology and gaming. Right now, I’ve been nerding hard over “League of Legends.” I was a professional gamer (high-level competitor) before anyone even knew what being a “professional gamer” even meant. I’m proud to be a part of the gaming community, and it’s cool to see this sport being recognized by ESPN.
Make sure to watch Below Deck Mediterranean every Tuesday 9/8c on Bravo!
