Did “Gotham” Just Tease Jerome’s Return For Season 3?

It’s no secret that Cameron Monaghan’s Jerome Valeska was a popular favorite amongst Gotham viewers and there was much uproar over his demise. However, with the second half of the Season 2 focusing on Hugo Strange and the resurrection of many villainous corpses, could it mean that a return is on the cards for the ginger joker?

The season finale definitely seemed to hint at a possible return. Those with sharp hearing will have heard what sounded like Jerome’s distinct laugh when Hugo’s monsters were escaping the bus.

Gotham‘s executive producer John Stephens revealed to Comic Book Resources that we’ll see some new evil faces in Season 3.

We’ll be seeing Mad Hatter in Season 3. We’ll be seeing the Tweedle Brothers, too, if we’re going to bring the Hatter in. In line with the Court of Owls, we’ll be seeing Talon. And, we should be seeing Solomon Grundy

The Mad Hatter along with Solomon Grundy have been teased in the past with many speculations amongst the show’s fans, but it is the first mention of the Tweedle Brothers.

While it might be too early to definitively call Jerome’s return, Gotham certainly wants you to think he’s coming back. Sadly, all we have to tide us over until the show’s fall return is that short clip of cackling. But surely, we’re not being too optimistic in wishing that Jerome will be joining the new villains to help wreak havoc for the third season?
