Catey Shaw Premieres New Video “Lovesick Jerk”

Baeble Music announced that pop artist Catey Shaw, has released the brand new video for her latest single, “Lovesick Jerk” today! Watch the new video here: “Lovesick Jerk“.

The video features Shaw in a couple iterations of a worn out party girl who while still beautiful wears the pain of her recent breakup all over her face.  She dances through the scenes smoking and drinking as she tries to put her “Lovesick Jerk” behind her.  The track has a dance beat, but the lyrics speak of wisdom that extends beyond the dance floor and out into the real world.  It is a catchy tune and it’s easy to see why Catey’s songs are a hit.

“A lovesick jerk is what becomes of an insecure love,” Shaw told LADYGUNN of the single’s inspiration. “Self-doubt manifests into doubt of the relationship itself. It takes all the fun out of it to have to constantly defend your love, especially to the one who loves you.”

“Lovesick Jerk” is the fourth track and third video release, from Catey’s forthcoming EP, The Ransom, which is scheduled for release on June 10th.  Shaw’s genre-bending sound has led to numerous print features including articles in Billboard and TIME; as well as to a performance on CBS’s The Queen Latifah Show. In addition to this latest video, Shaw has released visuals for the first three singles from the project, including “Walks All Over You,” “Tell Everyone” and the title track, “The Ransom“.  Catey’s fans can also stream “Tell Everyone” on OUT Magazine and “Walks All Over You” on PopCrush.

Drawing her inspiration from the ups and downs in love that are familiar to us all, Catey Shaw brings heartfelt honesty and emotion to every track on The Ransom EP.

Inked Magazine says, “Catey’s new music seems to follow the pattern of breaking hearts and taking names, complete with an ’80s beat.”

Tracks from Shaw’s upcoming summer EP already have the blogosphere buzzing.

PopCrush called her end-of-summer single, “Walks All Over You” “upbeat, audacious, and a complete earworm.”

“Catey Shaw does a lot of things right,” said Out Magazine, “Her songwriting is poppy but incisive, her voice is downright mellifluous.”

Shaw’s forthcoming EP follows her 2014 release, The Brooklyn EP, which was praised by The Huffington Post who remarked, “Shaw’s release proves she’s not a hipster gimmick, but an artist to be taken seriously.”

Perez Hilton commented that with her previous release “she officially cements herself as the Lily Allen for a younger generation.”
