MCM Sam Heughan

I admit: when I first heard the casting choice for Outlander‘s Jamie Fraser, I was confused. Jamie is supposed to be a freaking Viking for craps sake! And they went with Sam? But you know what? All it took was one scene and I was sold.

Sam’s first role was in the 2004 mini-series, Island at War. He later had a couple of guest episodes on Party Animals, which starred Matt Smith. But it wasn’t until 2014 when he appeared in Outlander that he became a household name here in the U.S.

In addition to acting, Sam is also very active in raising awareness for Bloodwise (formerly named The Leukemia and Lymphoma Research Organization). And if you follow him on Twitter, then you know he tries to get as many men as possible to check their “boys” for cancer.

Basically, Sam Heughan is a talented, Scottish Viking actor and philanthropist. And you should love him.
