DNCE, The Go-Go’s and Shawn Mendes to Perform at 2016 Billboard Music Awards

The 2016 Billboard Music Awards has a celebrity lineup that you can’t miss! Some of the musicians that will perform include DNCE, The Go-Go’s and Shawn Mendes. This is the first time that the awards show will air live on the East and West Coast on May 22, 2016, on ABC. Hip Hop entertainers, Ludacris and Ciara, will be hosting the exciting show.

The DNCE group, who came onto the music scene in 2015, released their debut single “Cake By The Ocean” which has become a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has earned 60 million music video views. The group members include the singer Joe Jonas, bassist and keyboardist Cole Whittle, guitarist JinJoo and drummer Jack Lawless. DNCE will be the opening act for Selena Gomez’s 2016 “Revival Tour” this summer.

The legendary rock group, The Go-Go’s, will begin their farewell tour this summer after 38 years in the music industry. The group members which consist of Charlotte Caffey, Belinda Carlisle, Gina Schock and Jane Wiedlin, are the only female rock band to top the Billboard 200 albums chart. The Go-Go’s rose to fame during the early 1980s after releasing their debut album, Beauty and the Beat, which was #1 on the Billboard 200 for six consecutive weeks and sold three million copies.

Canadian singer, Shawn Mendes, released his debut single “Life Of The Party” in 2014 and became the youngest artist in history to debut in the Billboard Hot 100 chart’s top 25 with their first song. Shawn released his debut album, Handwritten, in 2015 and it debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Mendes toured with Taylor Swift on her “1989 World Tour” and is currently headlining his own World Tour.
