BEST ONE-LINER: The Walking Dead
“When you were slinging Bisquick, did you mean to make pancakes?” -Abraham Ford
Abraham sure has a way with words; he speaks so eloquently, and now I am sure that none of us will ever be able to look at pancakes again. Yes, on last Sunday’s The Walking Dead, Abraham made a metaphor of Bisquick and pancakes to ask Glenn if he and Maggie meant to become pregnant.
BAD GUY OF THE WEEK: American Crime
Leslie Graham
This woman will stop at nothing to keep her job. Making the board quit at the end of last Wednesday’s episode was the icing on the cake of her manipulation to keep her job. Felicity Huffman is so good at making the audience just literally hate this woman. (contributed by Talya)
BIGGEST OTP MOMENT: The 100
Clexa Kiss
With tensions between the Grounders and Skaikru running even higher, and a newly put in place kill order on any member of Skaikru that crosses a line, Clarke must decide whether or not to stay in Polis with Lexa or return home to her people. Clarke being Clarke decides that she has to return to Arkadia for her people, but not before she says goodbye to Lexa, and their goodbye soon turns into a heartfelt kiss that leads to them sleeping together. The kiss is passionate, tearful, and a relief for both women as they finally allow themselves to fully embrace the love that they share. If only they had known that this would be their last moments together.
MOST EMOTIONAL SCENE: Shannara Chronicles
Amberle Becomes the Ellcrys
Thirty-five years ago, readers first felt the pang of heartbreak as Wil was forced to watch his love, Amberle, touch her hand to the dead Ellcrys and transform into its successor, forever separating them. Now, all these years later, Terry Brooks has done it to us again. For some, it feels as if the wound has never healed. For others, viewers who’ve never read the books, that pain is all too new and all too real.
But we already know that the series has deviated from the books. Will it be different here as it has several times over already? Is it better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all? And what does this mean for Wil and Eretria? We still don’t know what’s going on with our lovable rogue. As of now, these are all stories yet to be written on “The Shannara Chronicles”. MOST HEARTBREAKING MOMENT: The 100
Lexa’s Death
Lexa’s death was, admittedly, executed poorly, if I may say–she, a heroic, revolutionary commander, walked into a stray bullet. The scene was rescued by the infallible performances of Debnam-Carey, Eliza Taylor and Neil Sandilands as they desperately tried to save Lexa’s life. Ultimately, Lexa acknowledged there was nothing a sobbing and shaking Clarke could do–but even in her last moments, she honorably made sure Clarke’s safety was a guarantee and that the next commander should be guided as well as Titus had guided her, leaving a legacy of peace and wisdom behind. Even in her death she was the monolith of altruism, always looking out for her people–as Clarke confessed, “I don’t want another commander, I want you” as she kissed her love goodbye. For eyes too old for such youth, for eyes that have seen so much death and war–to look into Clarke’s eyes in her dying moments must have been solace and peace for Lexa’s heavy soul. Hodge Takes Down a Forsaken
When a super-charged Forsaken breached the Institute walls, it was up to weapons trainer Hodge to take him down (with a brief assist from Alec). If the finesse (and the attractiveness) of his ability didn’t impress you, then the fact that it took five Werewolves to kill one of them earlier in the episode just might. Olivia Leaves?
The end of the episode: Olivia asks for boxes and begins packing up her office. She tells the squad that she’s “gone, effective immediately.” Will she be back? Was she fired or just suspended? I NEED TO KNOW! (contributed by Jenni Bradley)
