Caitriona Balfe found extreme fame in 2014 when Starz aired the television adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander. Sure, she had roles in Super 8 and Now You See Me, but Balfe took the lead as Claire Randall in Outlander and it made her a star.
Balfe was born in Ireland and began modeling when she was 19. She began acting in 2010 and had her first major role in 2011’s Super 8.
Long-time fans of the book series Outlander were excited when it was announced it would be turned into series on Starz. We (I saw “we” because I was definitely there) all wondered who could do Claire Randall justice. I’m happy to say that Caitriona Balfe has done an amazing job! She personifies the words on the page and brings the character to life.
