The Lumineers to Release Their Sophomore Album

04

If you’re a fan of The Lumineers you’ll be excited to know that they will be releasing a new album! The folk rock band made waves in music in 2012 with their self-titled debut album, their featured track “Ho Hey” reaching #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #1 on the Billboard rock songs chart. But the band has been relatively quiet ever since, and fans were beginning to wonder if and when they would be releasing anything new.

Subtle hints that an album was in the works began to appear over the summer when a video was released on their Instagram of the band in the studio. Talk of an upcoming album sprang up again this week when The Lumineers began posting cryptic images on the social media site, fans speculating that it was an album cover, and then a mysterious countdown appeared on their website. The countdown ticking down to zero, it has been revealed today that The Lumineers will be releasing a second album called “Cleopatra.”

The Lumineers, based out of Denver, Colorado, offer rustic music that brings about a simplicity and soulfulness that creates an intimate relationship between the listener and the band. Their music, which is usually composed of a piano, guitar, and vocals, drew crowds when they went on tour, their shows selling out in the U.S.A., the UK, Europe, and Australia. Their sophomore album will hit shelves on April 8th, but you can listen to their new single, “Ophelia,” below, and keep up with tour dates on their website: http://thelumineers.com/
