The Expansion of the DC Universe
With the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice just over a month away, tensions are high. The success of the film, which will kick off the massive slate of DC universe movies, will be a key indicator as to how future movies will fare at the box office. In preview screenings, the film has received mixed reviews, and many speculated if director Zack Snyder would be sticking around for future movies.
Today, Warner Brothers officially revealed to EW today that Zack Snyder will be returning to direct Justice League – Part 1 and that production begins on April 11th, just two weeks after the release of Dawn of Justice. Filming will take place at locations around London, Iceland, and the Warner Bros. Leavesden studios in England, where parts of big films such as Harry Potter have filmed in the past. Snyder will now face the challenge of establishing the world that all of the superheroes co-exist in and bringing it to the screen in a way that appeals to fans of the original comics and the characters themselves.
