English singer-songwriter Lewis Watson released his newest single “Maybe We’re Home” on February 5th. This marks the first piece of music that he has released since his album The Morning, which debuted in 2014.
Lewis Watson, born in Oxford, England, began his music career in 2010 after receiving a guitar for his sixteenth birthday. Teaching himself how to play, he began doing cover videos on YouTube, covering artists and bands such as Mumford & Sons, Gabriele Aplin, and Bombay Bicycle Club. Watson’s fan base quickly grew, and after receiving rave reviews on the videos, he soon began uploading his own original music. His first EP, It’s Got Four Sad Songs on It BTW, was released in 2012 and led to a record deal with Warner Bros. Records. He has since released four more EPs: Another four sad songs, The Wild, Four More Songs, and Some Songs With Some Friends. In 2014, Watson released his debut album, The Morning.
The indie-pop artist’s newest single shows the evolution and maturation of his music from his previous works. Trading in his acoustic guitar for an electric guitar, the song combines guitar, drums, piano, and vocals to create a faster beat and a layered sound.
