Third Eye Blind Announces New Album, Video and Spring U.S. Tour Dates
Third Eye Blind recently released its first album in six years, Dopamine, and will be celebrating with multiple U.S. tour dates. Songwriter Stephan Jenkins, known for his lyrical sensibility, developed this album while on tour over the past few years, as the band promoted their previous CD, Ursa Major. Though fans will recognize the band’s signature guitar riffs, Dopamine is an exploration and rumination in the present tense. Jenkins applies his vocal and lyrical style to songs of identity, connection, isolation, and authenticity, keeping a knowing eye on a rapidly changing culture. The sense of spontaneity comes from a band whose evolution is through live performances, rather than substantial studio success. Third Eye Blind’s most endearing quality remains in the power of Jenkins’ fierce lyrical narrative. The CD is available on iTunes and Amazon.
Additionally, Third Eye Blind released a video of the song; “Something in You” which features a live version of the song with footage from the band’s sold out summer tour. “Something in You” is the band’s love letter to its devoted following who have passionately supported the band over the course of their lengthy career. The band will be touring again this spring across the U.S. The tour will begin on March 19 in Dallas, TX, and will culminate at Knitting Factory in Spokane, WA on Wednesday April 13th. The band is also scheduled to make an appearance at this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, TN from June 9-12. Third Eye Blind formed in San Francisco in 1993 and gained wide success in the late 90s, despite many changes in their lineup.
