“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” TV Remake Casts Brad and Janet

It’s been announced that FOX has casted the roles of newly engaged couple Janet Weiss and Brad Majors for their TV remake of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Actress/recording artist Victoria Justice, and actor/recording artist Ryan McCartan will reprise the couple for FOX in autumn.

Victoria Justice

If you’re in your early twenties like me, then you probably grew up watching Justice sass it up as Lola Martinez on Nickelodeon’s “Zoey 101,” a show from 2005 about the adventures of students of Pacific Coast Academy. However, more recent generations will know her from her 2010 venture as Tori Vega, the leading role on Nickelodeon Network’s “Victorious,” and her role as Lindy Sampson on MTV’s “Eye Candy.” Justice has also guest-starred on “Undateable,” “Gilmore Girls,” and “The Penguins of Madagascar.” She is also set to appear on FOX’s new comedy “COOPER BARRETT’S GUIDE TO SURVIVING LIFE.” Justice has also appeared in the films “Fun Size,” and “The First Time.”

In addition to her acting career, Victoria Justice is a successful recording artist. She has recorded the soundtracks for “Victorious,” as well as a number of singles, selling more than 3 million of them. Justice has been nominated for a number of Young Artist Awards, winning in 2006 and 2007 for Best Young Ensemble Performance in a TV Series for Zoey 101. She’s also been nominated for various Kids’ Choice Awards (winning one), an Imagen Award, an ALMA Award, and an NAACP Image Award.

Ryan McCartan

Ryan McCartan is known from his role as “Diggie” on Disney Channel’s show “Liv and Maddie,” alongside Dove Cameron. McCartan has also had roles on the films “Summer Forever,” and R. L. Stine’s “Monsterville: The Cabinet of Souls.” He’ll be starring in upcoming films “Emma’s Chance,” as well as “The Standoff,” in which McCartan will have the leading male role. McCartan has guest-starred on TV shows “The Middle,” “Royal Pains,” “Last Man Standing,” and “Monday Mornings.” The actor is also credited for his performance as JD in “Heathers: The Musical.”

Together with co-star Dove Cameron, McCarten formed the band The Girl and the Dreamcatcher; they have released the single “Written in the Stars.” Additionally, Ryan McCarten has recently released his first solo album “Heart Attack.”

Not only will the TV reprise feature Victoria Justice and Ryan McCarten, but the show will also star singer/actor Staz Nair as Rocky, and actor Reeve Carney as Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s servant Riff Raff. Carney has starred as Peter Parker/Spiderman on Broadway in “Spiderman Turn off the Dark,” and is now cast on “Penny Dreadful” as Dorian Gray. Nair will be on “Game of Thrones” opposite Emilia Clarke.

Lou Adler is returning to aid Gail Berman and Kenny Ortega with the development of the show. Adler was originally an executive producer of the 1975 film version of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Adler is also known for his labels Dunhill Records, and Ode Records, and for his part in bringing the Monterey International Pop Festival to fruition.

“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” remake is set to hit FOX this fall with a 2-hour runtime. Fans can follow on Facebook here, on Twitter using @RockyHorrorFOX, and on Instagram using @RockyHorrorFOX.
