Spencer Sutherland Releases New Single “I Just Gotta”

Do you like new music? Do you like new music that’s free? Then good news! Pop/R&B singer Spencer Sutherland recently premiered his new single “I Just Gotta” exclusively via idobi Radio, and he’s decided to make it free for fans everywhere in return for all of their support! It’s true what artists say, they’d be nowhere without their fans, and they all have a different ways of showing their appreciation.

And this isn’t the first time that Sutherland has shown his fans his gratitude; in 2015, Spencer released his video for “Nothing Can Hurt Me,” which included clips of some of his fans lip-syncing the song. Additionally, the video featured cameos from guest stars Macy Kate and Wes Stromberg. “Nothing Can Hurt Me” was the first single from Spencer’s most recent acoustic EP Unveiled, which was released last January through ARTISTdirect. Unveiled showcased a number of co-writers, including Johnny Andrews, Jerry DePizzo of O.A.R., Ben Levels, and Kevin Lankford. Specifically on “Nothing Can Hurt Me,” Spencer co-wrote the single with Swedish producer, composer, and writer Andreas Carlsson, and Karl Johan Råsmark. Likewise, Spencer Sutherland has co-written on Emblem3’s EP Forever Together.

As well as writing his own songs, Sutherland has gained popularity by covering some of the most popular songs on the radio, including “Hello” by Adele, “Hey Mama” by Nicki Minaj, “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd, and “Same Old Love” by Selena Gomez. Similarly, Sutherland got together with actress and singer/songwriter Stefanie Scott to cover “Everything has Changed,” originally by Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. Being a self-taught singer/songwriter with an incredible range, Sutherland breathes new life and style into songs that most everyone has heard. I have to say, that I’m not the biggest of fans of songs on the Top 40 Charts, but I’d dedicate a playlist for Spencer Sutherland’s versions.

“I Just Gotta” is a sexy new track with a whole lot of heart and soul. It’s a song you’ll want to put on repeat and dance to around the room or in the club. And it’s more than just a beat with nonsense thrown on top; there’s a message in the lyrics. Sutherland had this to say about the single: “The song ‘I Just Gotta’ is something I personally have experienced. It’s about trying to get someone away from all the insanity and distractions of a situation, and just be able to hang alone with them.” After listening to 30 seconds of this song, Sutherland will make you want to put down the phone, trust me. Listen to it on idobi Radio’s website here. And check out his other single “Bad Influence” on YouTube where you can also find numerous covers by Spencer Sutherland.
