Lucifer: The Devil Is Coming
With the new year brings new television, and boy am I excited for this one. If you are a TV addict like myself, you’ll recognize Tom Ellis right away. For you mere mortals (a.k.a. normal people) Tom Ellis can be seen in a variety of shows. Most recently the British comedy Miranda and the USA Network drama Rush. In this new show Tom plays the devil himself, Lucifer Morningstar, complete with his drool-worthy British accent. Lucifer is loosely based on the comics by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg.
The devil has gotten bored in hell and has moved to the city of angels, Los Angeles. Lucifer has settled down, opened a night club and developed friendships. After a young pop star is killed outside his club, Lucifer begins to feel again, confusing both himself and his best friend, a demon in human form, Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt). In the course of the investigation, Lucifer meets a LAPD detective by the name of Chloe Decker (Lauren German), who is oddly immune to his charms. In search of the killer, and intrigued by Chloe’s goodness, Lucifer offers his unique abilities. On top of all that, the angel Amendadiel (DB Woodside) is sent to bring Lucifer back to hell. This series is bound to be full of good vs evil, murder, mystery, and witty one liners.
