Lifetime’s UnReal Gets Ready for Season Two Summer Launch

The first season of UnReal gained much attention and acclaim. In fact, the American Film Institute is honoring the series as a Television Program of the Year for 2015 and was nominated by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association for a Critic’s Choice Award for Best Drama. With both its popularity and its awards, it comes as no surprise that UnReal has been set for a second season, starting its filming in March.

In case you are unfamiliar, UnReal gives a fictitious look at the making of a dating competition called Everlasting. It stars Shiri Appleby and Constance Zimmer as the producers of the program. Season two will focus on the controversy that comes about when Everlasting casts its first-ever African-American suitor, Darius Hill, an All-American football star. The new contestants include Yael, a gorgeous upscale hipster; Tiffany, a daddy’s girl and football player’s dream; Ruby, a shrewd contestant, not at all interested in being a puppet for the producers; Bethann, an Alabama born and bred patriotic girl; and Chantal, a prim and proper southern debutante. Everlasting gets a new producer named Coleman and also new to the series is Darius’s cousin Romeo. Fans will be excited to hear that returning in season two are regulars Craig Bierko as Everlasting‘s creator Chet, Josh Kelly as director of photography Jeremy, and Jeffrey Bower-Chapman as field producer Jay.

Prepare for season two of UnReal by catching up on the critically acclaimed first season which will be available on Hulu starting February 3rd.
