Imagine Dragons’ Smoke + Mirrors Tour Hits Select Theatres

In collaboration with Fathom Events, CinemaLive, and Eagle Vision, Imagine Dragons will be bringing the concert experience to fans through the art of cinematography for a single night only. On WednesdayMarch 2, the Smoke + Mirrors Tour will take place in 300 select theaters across the United States. Additionally, a select few theaters will feature the event in 4K & Dolby Atmos, which will engage fans similarly to seeing the musical group in the flesh without some of the common difficulties of attending a concert. From my understanding, Dolby Atmos takes audio-sound and gives it motion, having decisive placement within a space, leading audiences to feel as though they are part of the live audience.

Imagine Dragons had this to say about the tour and the concert event to be held in March: “We put more blood, sweat, and lasers into planning the Smoke + Mirrors Tour than any performance we’ve given to date, and its something we’ll always remember. This event captures that live energy in an incredibly immersive way. We can’t wait to show it to fans all over the world who either want to re-live the experience we shared together, or see it for the first time.”

From director Dick Carruthers, the concert was filmed at the Toronto, Canada location of the Smoke + Mirrors Tour in front of 15,000 devoted followers. The set list includes songs from the platinum-selling album Night Visions, such as “Demons,” and the instant favorite “Radioactive.” Other songs that will be played during the event include “I Bet My Life,” “Shots,” “Gold,” and, being played for the first time live, “Thief.”

Night Visions, the band’s first full-length album on KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records, was released in 2012, and saw Imagine Dragons quickly into the light of popularity. The LP topped at #2 on the Billboard’s 200 Chart, sold over 5 million copies and 24 million tracks worldwide, and Imagine Dragons earned the Best Rock Performance for “Radioactive” in 2014. Similar to Night VisionsSmoke + Mirrors features music that’s carried rhythmically. Imagine Dragons’ second full-length album reached #1 on Billboard, and UK’s Official Album Charts last year. Also, the album has achieved gold status in both countries, and even further, platinum in Canada. The band took musical influence from their lives on the road, and all of the positives and difficulties that come along with it.

As stated before, the event is to be held on Wednesday, March 2 in 300 theaters across the nation. It will begin at 7:30pm local time, and will be held for one night only. Don’t pass up your chance to see Imagine Dragons live on the Smoke + Mirrors Tour for the first time, or re-live an event you’re sure to remember.
