A Classic Television Horror Program Returns: TNT Announces Revival of Tales From the Crypt

It was mini-horror television. Back in the late 1980s, a horror anthology show called Tales From the Crypt aired on HBO. It featured mini tales of horror in a neatly packed 30-minutes.
It was announced that M. Night Shyamalan will head a revival of this series which will be coming to TNT in a 2-hour block of programming. The stories will come from the E.C. Comic series as well as original material. Shyamalan and his partner at Binding Edge Pictures, Ashwin Rajan will executive produce and Shyamalan will probably direct the first episode.
It is unknown at this time whether the show’s horror icon, The Cryptkeeper will make an appearance in the new version. The Cryptkeeper served as the host, like an Alistair Cooke (The well-known host of the 1970s PBS’s Masterpiece Theater), introducing the episodes.
The original Tales From the Crypt aired from June 10, 1989 – July 19, 1996. As a fan of the original, I look forward to seeing this remake.
