© by Matt Sav

Since its release in July 2015, Currents, Tame Impala’s third length album has garnered nearly universal critical acclaim. The new dance-oriented feel showcased by the band landed Currents on many different lists of the year’s best albums including Spin, Paste, Pitchfork, and Rolling Stone. Consequence of Sound also named Tame Impala the band of the year. As if that were not enough, the band also received their second Best Alternative Music Album Grammy nomination.

2016 will be the first time for many American fans to hear this music in person as Tame Impala will be returning to the states this summer.

The band will be making several stops including two nights at the BRIC Celebrates Brooklyn! Festival in June and Red Rocks Amphitheater in August. Tickets for the announced shows will go on sale January 15. More stops are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

When Nathan is not writing about music, he might be writing material for his often neglected blog at Or he might be writing something else. Or podcasting. Or playing music. Most likely he is just watching TV thinking about how he should be doing those things. You can tweet him @badlandsbadley and congratulate him on his mad 3rd person writing skills.
