Top 5 Moments in X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer

The trailer for X-Men Apocalypse debuted this past week and ever since the last X-Men movie Days of Future Past, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next installment of mutants fighting to figure out their part in the world. Here are some top 5 moments that fans can take notice in and speculate until the movie’s release.
*WARNING: For those who have not seen the trailer for X-Men:Apocalypse obvious spoilers ahead*
1.) The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse
In the trailer we see Archangel (Ben Hardy), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), and a young Storm (Alexandra Shipp) being recruited by the new villain, Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac). Whether willingly or by force these mutants are getting some major perks by having their already powerful abilities enhanced and perhaps altered to do Apocalypse’s bidding. We don’t know for sure the motives behind three of these recruited mutants but it may be safe to assume that Magneto A.K.A Eric is trying to find himself again due to his public defeat in Days of Future Past. Eric has always been a tough character to read because he believes that humans are the enemy of mutants and wishes for mutants to fight together a build an army against them. Now the enemy is his former team and former friend, Charles Xavier (James McAvoy). Eric has been someone who can fight alone but doesn’t hesitate to have others fight alongside him. Maybe now he will realize just how important it is to have the right team to fight with and to fight for a world for both humans and mutants.
2.) The New (but familiar) X-Men
Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) are back, except they might look a little different since they are being portrayed as young teenagers. We don’t know exactly how they get introduced into the X-Men but the trailer shows that they are going to be right in the action, joining the team while still learning and embracing their evolving powers.
Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) has been an interesting character to follow because ever since her debut as a younger version of herself in X-Men First Class, Mystique has been a young woman looking for her identity in a world where she can either be accepted or excluded. She began as a wild card considering her struggle to be her own person but at the same time seeking guidance from those who understand her. Both Charles and Eric have been her guides and both have shown her two different paths of living life as a mutant. In the trailer we see her teaming up with Charles and saying that she wants to fight with the team. Her role has evolved from being a student to now teaching and leading the new X-Men because she knows that when it comes to power the only limit is yourself and for what everyone is about to face, no one should be afraid to hold back. She is leading her own path and using what she has learned as her strength to fight for the war ahead.
We got our first look at Apocalypse in the end credits of Days of Future Past and he has certainly evolved since the last time we saw him. He believes that the X-Men have been “lead blindly” and deserve a leader who will show them a better world. He is believed to be the first mutant to ever exist and considers all other mutants his children. As his children it would seem that Apocalypse would want to destroy anything that may cause them harm, meaning destroying the human world and building one with mutant control a “better world”. Apocalypse may be the most threatening villain the X-Men have come across so far considering he holds the power to control them all. If that is the case then defeating him will be all the more challenging.
We finally get our look at a bald Charles Xavier who is given the nickname Professor X. Now this probably isn’t a shock to fans considering we have seen Charles bald before in previous films. Except now since this a young Charles Xavier, fans are going to witness just how he lost all that hair and how it may transform him into the Professor we have come to know.
X-Men: Apocalypse comes out May 27, 2016.
