To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) Wants You To Bring Hope #into16!
There are far too many who struggle with depression, addiction, anxiety, self-injury or thoughts of suicide. Luckily there is an organization that not only provides much-needed resources to those in need, but also created a dialogue about mental health that has inspired hundreds of thousands of people to open up about their own struggles. To Write Love On Her Arms’ mission is to encourage, inform, inspire, and invest in the treatment and recovery of those who are suffering.
To further their mission, TWLOHA has announced a brand new campaign dubbed #into16. Now through December 31st, donors are encouraged to contribute in order to put “Find Help” resources into the hands of more than 10,000 people. The goal of #into16 is to bring the conversation about mental health to thousands of people in hopes of connecting those who are suffering with the right support and help. With a goal of raising $50,000 by midnight EST on December 31st, 2015, TWLOHA seeks to bring the conversation about mental health to hundreds of festivals across North America and abroad, including the Vans Warped Tour, and allow their 70 university chapters to continue their efforts to challenge the stigma of mental health issues on college campuses.
“As an organization, we have the unique opportunity to bring a message of hope and help to surprising places. The Internet allows us to meet people where they are every single day, but we also love to hit the road and meet folks face to face. The chance to deliver hope in person, that’s the focus of this campaign.” — Jamie Tworkwoski, founder of TWLOHA.
Many of us have had our own struggles with mental health or have seen the affects of addiction, depression, and anxiety on our friends and loved ones. “Supernatural” star, Jared Padalecki, put a well-known face to depression when he partnered with TWLOHA after opening up about his own struggle with mental illness. His “Always Keep Fighting” campaign continues to create a dialogue with millions of fans about mental illness and has raised thousands for TWLOHA and other organizations who deal directly with mental health. The AKF campaign brought a national spotlight to the incredible work TWLOHA accomplishes and made it evident how crucial their work is.
This is our opportunity to carry on the mission of TWLOHA and “Always Keep Fighting” by continuing to fight the stigma against mental health and get help for those in need. So donate today and make sure you use the hashtag #into16 to show your support for TWLOHA and continue the discussion about mental health.
As they say at TWLOHA, “We’ll see you tomorrow.”
