Six Shows You Should Have Watched In 2015

From limited series to Netflix churning out original hits, 2015 has seen us encounter an abundance of new heroes to root for, new villains to despise and new story lines that have had us on the edge of our seats. With so many new shows gracing our screens this year, there’s a good chance that you probably haven’t managed to find the time to watch them all. So, as we venture into a new year, here are five shows that you should definitely consider binge-watching!

1. Wayward Pines

Initially a limited event series, FOX has decided to renew M. Night Shyamalan’s Wayward Pines for a second season. Secret Service agent Ethan Burke heads to Wayward Pines in Idaho to investigate the disappearance of two federal agents in the bucolic town. Ethan quickly learns that he may never get out of Wayward Pines alive.

Wayward Pines stars Matt Dillon, Toby Jones, Shannyn Sossamon, Carla Gugino, Terrence Howard and Juliette Lewis.

2. The Man In The High Castle

Amazon Studios teamed up with Scott Free, Headline Pictures and Big Light Productions to make this gripping dystopian alternate history series. Based on the 1962 novel of the same name by Philip K. Dick, The Man In The High Castle offers an alternate look at what would have happened if Germany and Japan had won WWII and taken over the U.S.

3. And Then There Were None

It’s been all anyone in the UK can talk about since it aired on Boxing Day. The BBC adaptation of Agatha Christie’s best-selling thriller And Then There Were None is period crime drama at it’s finest.

In August 1939, eight strangers are invited, by various tactics and misrepresentations, to Soldier Island, a small isolated rock off the Devon coast. Cut off from the mainland, with their ostensible hosts, “Mr. and Mrs. U.N. Owen”, mysteriously absent, they are each accused of a terrible crime, as are the two married servants. When two of the ten die mysteriously before morning, the accused suddenly realize there may be a murderer among them.

4. Fear The Walking Dead

There were a lot of mixed opinions when it came to AMC’s The Walking Dead spin-off, but whether you’re a fan of TWD or not, Fear the Walking Dead still makes for interesting viewing.

There’s a sign of an apocalypse in Los Angeles, where reports of a strange flu and the disappearance of people. The story of the zombie outbreak is told through the lens of high school guidance counselor Madison Clark and her dysfunctional family.

Fear the Walking Dead stars Kim Dickens, Alycia Debnam Carey, Frank Dillane, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Cliff Curtis.

5. Poldark

This one goes out to all my fellow period drama nerds! Again, this one was the talk of the UK when it aired in March mainly because of that scything scene (of which you can see a nice behind the scenes still of here. You can thank me later!) that made the whole nation fall in love with Aidan Turner.

Set in the late 18th century, Ross Poldark returns home to his Cornish mines after fighting in American Revolutionary War to find his sweetheart Elizabeth is now engaged to his cousin Francis. Ross attempts to rebuild his life with a new business venture, making new enemies and finding a new love where he least expects it.

Poldark stars Aidan Turner, Eleanor Tomlinson, Heida Reed, Jack Farthing and Kyle Soller.

6. Mr. Robot

After premiering the pilot online, USA Network’s drama thriller was picked up for a second season before the first had even begun airing!

The series follows Elliot Alderson, a young computer programmer living in New York City, who works at the cybersecurity company Allsafe as a security engineer, that suffers from social anxiety disorder and clinical depression. Elliot forms connections through hacking leading him to be recruited by a mysterious anarchist, who calls himself Mr. Robot.

Mr. Robot stars Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Martin Wallström, Carly Chaikin and Portia Doubleday.
