Quantico Winter Finale Was Explosive Drama

QUANTICO - "Inside" - The terrorist responsible for the bombing of Grand Central Station is finally revealed, but instead of answers, more questions remain. While back at Quantico, the recruits receive a well-deserved few days off for the holidays, but not everyone is oh so merry when secrets are revealed and lines and blurred, on "Quantico" SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13 (10:00--11:00 p.m., EST) on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/Phillipe Bosse) YASMINE AL MASSRI, ANABELLE ACOSTA, PRIYANKA CHOPRA, RICK COSNETT

Quantico has spun an intricate web of betrayal and mistrust that heightens the intrigue of each episode.

For 10 episodes, viewers have followed Alex Parrish who is trying to uncover why and who framed her for setting off a bomb at Grand Central Station.  Priyanka Chopra plays Alex with the intelligence and spunk needed to convince audiences that she will survive even with the odds stacked against her. She is the new Sydney Bristow (the Alias heroine). Viewers care about Alex and want her to clear her name.

Quantico’s many twists and turns have put viewers in the similar position as Alex: Who do you trust?

The winter finale finally revealed the identity of the bomber.  This article contains spoilers so if you haven’t seen the episode, please do not continue reading.  The best thing about the writing on Quantico is that many of the major characters have appeared guilty at one point.  They all seemed to have secrets that cast doubt on their innocence.  The biggest offender was Simon.  Several episodes showed Simon in nefarious meetings. I admit that even when it seemed as though he was helping Alex at times I didn’t trust him.  That’s the magic of Quantico’s writing, making the innocent appear guilty and vice versa.  But in the end, it was Elias who was the culprit, though he insisted that he wasn’t the mastermind (SO IS IT CALEB?!?).

Former Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross joined the show as Caleb’s mother, Senator Haas who may have secrets of her own.

Alex and gang were able to discover the location of the second bomb but the final scenes of the winter finale showed that despite their best efforts which included diffusing the explosive, it was too late.

The second half of the season promises to be a high-octane roller-coaster ride.

Quantico returns Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 10/9c on ABC.
