Releasing their debut album Kin in October 2014, Rebecca and Megan Lovell have had the kind of success most groups only dream of. While the duo spent their childhood learning classical violin and piano, it was in roots rock that they finally located their sound. Now, in just five years, the two have found themselves working with producer T. Bone Burnett on long-lost Bob Dylan lyrics on Lost on the River: The New Basement Tapes, as well as Kristian Bush from Sugarland and, this last fall, touring as the opening act and backing band for Conor Oberst.
The duo will be joining Elvis Costello on the North American leg of his “Detour” tour as his opening act and backing band, playing through 14 cities with more dates to come. This is not the first time Larkin Poe has worked with Costello, having served as his backing band several times in the last five years. While working with Costello is sure to be a pleasure, the band will also be focusing on new material from their upcoming album, Reskinned, that is slated for release this coming spring.
Fans will have plenty to look forward to from Larkin Poe this coming year and this tour will be a great chance to see the material from what has been described as their coming of age project.
