On September 12, 1993, a generation of fans became weak in the knees watching Dean Cain soar across our television screens wearing that famous cape blazed with an “S” in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Cain’s turn as The Man of Steel and his Daily Planet alter ego Clark Kent was memorable. His onscreen chemistry opposite Teri Hatcher’s Lois Lane put the super in supercouple. Cain also proved his talents as a writer, penning two episodes for the series, “Season’s Greedings” and “Virtually Destroyed.” Fans of the show were heartbroken when it ended after four seasons on a cliffhanger: Lois and Clark holding a mysterious baby.
Now Cain gets to be a television dad. He returned to the superhero genre as Jeremiah Danvers, adoptive father to Kara in CBS’ new show ” Supergirl.”
Kara is played by actress Melissa Benoist. Rounding out the cast are Calista Flockhart, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan and David Harewood.
