Crazy Ex-Girlfriend: Is Rachel Making Healthy Choices?

Spoiler alert: This article contains information from the episode “I’m Going on a Date With Josh’s Friend!” which may not have aired yet in some regions.
Rachel has taken the advice of her unconventional life coach, a butter commercial, when it comes to making the important decisions in her life. ‘Are you making healthy choices?’ the commercial’s tagline determined her move to West Covina.
But in the episode titled “I’m dating Josh’s friend”, healthy choices included not only eating healthy but giving Greg a chance by going out a date with him.
Kudos to the show on the black and white dance fantasy for Greg’s “Settle For Me” ballad. As a fan of the Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movies of the 1930s, I found this sequence brilliantly executed. Additionally, it set the tone for everything that came afterwards. Rachel embarked on a series of one night stands, obviously not the healthy choice, instead of “settling” for Greg. But would a relationship with Greg really be settling? He is a gentleman, a modern-day Fred Astaire, that cares about her despite the kooky things she does.
It seems like Rebecca’s insecurities are causing her to self sabotage. Furthermore, she needs to take a closer look at herself and become the person she wants to be before considering a relationship, with either Josh or Greg.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend airs Mondays at 8/7c on The CW.
