On the road so far, those heroic brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, have faced a lot of supernatural evil. Powerful entities such as witches, ghosts, demons and angels were defeated by two plaid wearing, Kansas boys cruising around the country in their classic 1967 Chevy Impala. Yet, the Winchester brothers were completely unprepared for one of their biggest shockers: Seeing their lives portrayed in song!
Fan Fiction, Supernatural’s musical tribute, celebrated 200 episodes. For a show that seems to enjoy serving up a meal of meta with episodes like Hollywood Babylon, Changing Channels, and The French Mistake, Fan Fiction offered another memorable highlight.
When Sam and Dean went to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a teacher at an all girls school, they stumbled upon the teens’ production of “Supernatural.” Penned by fangirl Marie (wonderfully portrayed by actress Katie Sarife), the musical provided some brilliantly catchy tunes: The Road So Far, I’ll Just Wait Here Then and A Single Man Tear. The musical also included a poignant rendition of “Carry on Wayward Son.”
Today, November 11, is the one year anniversary of when Fan Fiction first aired. Thanks to the cast and crew of Supernatural who continue to take viewers on many creative roads. We have traveled all of them, so far, and have laughed and have also shed more than a single man (and woman) tear.
