MTV Returns to New York Comic Con
MTV is making a triumphant return to New York Comic Con this year after being noticeably absent from last year’s lineup. In just a few weeks, fans will be able to interact with cast members and show producers at panels, as well as view exclusive footage from upcoming seasons.
Teen Wolf is currently filming season 5B, but so many things happened in the 5A finale there will be plenty to discuss during the panel. Deputy Parrish was revealed to be a hellhound, Braeden returned, Lydia was put into a catatonic state, and Theo is the leader of a pack of zombie chimeras, just to name a few. The panel should definitely answer some of the many questions that stemmed from the 5A finale and how they will carry over to the new season.
The Shannara Chronicles is a show that holds so much promise for MTV. Based on the novel by Terry Brooks, it will be the second convention for the show and cast members. The show doesn’t premiere until January of 2016, but MTV has been great in advertising the show as Game of Thrones-esque and sparking a lot of interest in viewers. Shot in New Zealand, the show is definitely different from anything MTV has done in the past. With main cast members Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett, Emilia Burns, and Austin Butler, the 10 episode first season is definitely something to look out for.
For those attending New York Comic Con this year, the Teen Wolf panel will be held on Friday, October 9th from 5:45 – 6:45pm on the Empire Stage. The Shannara Chronicles panel will be held on Saturday, October 10th from 12:15 – 1:15pm on the Empire Stage. There have been no guest announcements so far, but knowing MTV, the panels are sure to be packed with many guests. Assuming their plans for NYCC are similar to San Diego Comic Con, I would definitely follow their social media accounts closely to see any information on autograph signings and giveaways throughout the weekend.
