HTGAWM: How to Get Away with a Great Season Premiere

Spoiler Alert:  This article contains information from the Season 2 Premiere which may have not aired in some regions.

How to Get Away With Murder aired its Season 2 premiere on September 24.  It was an enjoyable, fast paced episode that kept viewers on the edge of their seats the entire hour.

Emmy Award Winner Viola Davis delivered a powerful performance as usual, leaving no doubt that she is deserving of the honor.  Her Annalise is strong and determined but with glimpses of vulnerability and doubt.

In last season’s finale, Rebecca was murdered.  The killer was revealed to be Bonnie, which came as a surprise to viewers who suspected Frank had done the deed.  Annalise’s Scooby Gang of law students were still in the dark thinking Rebecca escaped and ran off.

How to Get Away With Murder’s formula of having two legal cases in the same episode keeps the viewers’ interest.  In this episode, there was Nate’s (Annalise’s ex cop boyfriend) upcoming trial for Sam’s murder and a case involving two adopted siblings on trial for the murder of their adopted parents.

Viewers also got to meet Eve, an old law school pal of Annalise, who was encouraged to take Nate’s case.  Eve wasn’t too eager to help when she learned that Annalise had actually set Nate up for the crime.  However, that didn’t stop the two from sharing a moment where Annalise’s aforementioned vulnerability was displayed.  Here’s hoping Eve, played by Famke Janssen appears in many future episodes.

The closing scene of the premiere saw Annalise shot and lying in a pool of blood! As is customary with How to Get Away With Murder, viewers will be treated to the ‘Who Done It?’ storytelling throughout the entire season. Viewers will continue to play detective and try to solve this crime.  Season 2 is already shaping up to be as exciting a thrill ride as Season 1!
