Tribute to Elvis Presley

On August 16, 1977, the music world suffered a crushing blow when the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley died.

Presley was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi. Although he was also an actor, it’s his musical legacy for which he is most remembered. With such songs as Hound Dog, Jailhouse Rock, Love Me Tender, Presley’s established sound influenced a generation. Additionally, his dance moves were copied by teenagers all over the world.

Elvis Presley remains a top recording artist (second behind Michael Jackson). Even thirty-eight years after his death, fans still remember the joy his music brought to their lives.
