As we countdown to the season two premiere of Empire, I decided that for my first Top Five, I’d list the Top Five quotes of one of TV’s most outspoken heroines.
Played by Taraji P. Henson, Cookie Lyon is a force to be reckoned with. She’s beautiful, street smart (after all, it was her initial investment of $400,000 that Luscious Lyon parlayed into a billion dollar corporation) and despite being in prison for 17 years, her love for her sons has only galvanized her ability to insure their stake in Empire Records.
Part of Cookie’s strength is that she’s uninhibited. Her words cut more than any weapon could or ever will. They make us laugh out loud and sometimes make us cry.
