Everything You Need To Know About the 2015 MTV VMAs

If you’ve watched MTV the past couple weeks, you are reminded every commercial break that the VMAs are right around the corner and going to be even crazier than before. I don’t know how MTV can top the 16 minute Beyonce performance from last year and Lady Gaga hanging herself on stage in 2009, but with Miley Cyrus hosting I’m ready for anything. There is even a new rainbow moonman, designed by Jeremy Scott of Moschino, exclusively for this year’s show.
Get this: Kanye West is winning the Video Vanguard Award this year. Yes, the same Kanye that was banned from the VMA’s just 6 years ago after interrupting Taylor Swift’s Best Female Video speech. I personally think it would be hilarious if Taylor interrupted him this year, but that’s just my secret fantasy. Taylor will probably be too busy premiering her Wildest Dreams Music Video and dancing crazily to every performance.

Some of these confirmed performances are Nick Jonas with “Levels,” WALK THE MOON with “Shut Up and Dance,” and The Weeknd with “Can’t Feel My Face.” The rest of the performers will be announced this week, but there are rumors of Justin Bieber with his new song “What Do You Mean” and Demi Lovato with “Cool For the Summer.” Even if these rumors prove not to be true, the line-up seems insane and I can’t wait to see what crazy things happen this year.

While we wait for the awards to air this weekend, feel free to make your own VMA art here and vote for your favorite Song of the Summer here or on Twitter and Instagram. You can vote up to 12 times per user per day by using a specific hashtag. The nominees are as follows:
