“Can’t Feel My Face” is a single from Canadian artist The Weeknd’s second studio album, Beauty Behind the Madness. The song was released in June 2015 and has reached great success, peaking number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 2 on the Canadian Hot 100. The song has also earned success in many other countries such as New Zealand, Denmark, Ireland, and South Africa while peaking in the top ten in numerous other countries. The song has had great critical acclaim with many noting similarities between The Weeknd and Michael Jackson.
The music video for “Can’t Feel My Face” was released on July 28, 2015 via Apple Music and features American model, Chanel Iman as The Weeknd’s love interest. Again critics note similarities to Michael Jackson when it came to The Weeknd’s dance moves in the video.
The song has also reached pop culture success. “Can’t Feel My Face” has been sung by Tom Cruise in a lip sync battle on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and is also featured in the 2015 video game “Madden 16.”
“Can’t Feel My Face” started as a great summer jam but it isn’t going anywhere soon. While I’m not quite sure why The Weekend can’t feel his face when he’s with this girl, I am still obsessed with this song.
