Album review: Buried in Verona, "Vultures above, Lions below"

Released yesterday, Buried in Verona’s new album Vultures above, Lions below is a musical journey through the band’s darkest times.

Following a difficult year, the band–with new members Mark Harris, Brandon Martel, and Jason Swanson–have created an album that is both angry and empowered, venting all the frustrations of original band members Brett Anderson and Richie Newman. Anderson is quoted as saying that while he was writing the lyrics for this powerful album, Harris provided insight that kept the album from being too depressing and elevated the sound to a richer, more powerful experience.

This album was written, produced, and recorded entirely by the band. The richness of sound and depth of the lyrics show that this band is a force to be reckoned with.
