5 Reasons You Should Watch Teen Wolf Season 5

After a painstakingly long 10-month hiatus, Teen Wolf finally comes back to MTV with Season 5 at the end of this month. If you are looking for a good show to watch this summer, here are five reasons why Teen Wolf should definitely be on your list…

Senior Year. Season 5 picks up six months after the final showdown between Scott and Peter in Mexico. Scott and the members of his pack are dealing with all of the struggles that come with senior year, and realizing that they are about to enter the adult world for the first time. They have been through so much together that they can’t see themselves ever going separate ways. Even though the goal is to stay together after they graduate, getting into college will prove to be a huge obstacle for some of the characters.

Girl Power. Teen Wolf has always done a great job at ensuring that the female characters are more than just love interests for the male characters. This season we get to see more character development from the show’s leading ladies. After Kira’s defeat against the Berserkers in Mexico, it was clear that she needed to work on her sword wielding abilities, and you won’t have to wait very long to see her in action. Lydia, also gets to take on a more badass role this season as she becomes more comfortable with her banshee abilities. The cold open of the premiere is completely focused on Lydia, but Jeff Davis has kept all of the details a secret since it plays a major part in setting up the rest of the season. Personally, I am most excited to see Malia with actual dialogue and not just growling to express her feelings.

Rocky Relationships. All of the relationships will be tested this season. Scott struggles with his connection to Kira, so Stiles acts as his own personal Yoda: the love edition. But, from the way Malia was checking out the shirtless hottie in the locker room during the trailer, it’s safe to say that the future of Stalia is not looking too bright. Last season hinted at a bond forming between Lydia and Parrish, but the age difference might mean that their relationship is strictly business as they try to figure out what type of supernatural creature he is. On the brightside, Liam gets his own love interest, so be prepared for some puppy love!

New Eye Candy. Even though Tyler Hoechlin is no longer a series regular *sad face*, there is a new student at Beacon Hills to fulfill all of your fantasies. Theo, played by Cody Christian of Pretty Little Liars, is in every episode of the new season. Although the details of his character have been kept secret, it will be interesting to see if his presence sparks any drama between Scott and Stiles.

Stiles.
Jeff Davis has said that we will be denied a shirtless Dylan O’Brien again this season, but a girl can dream…
