Single Review: Love Crushed Velvet ‘Bye Bye Baby’

Love Crushed Velvet — the New York-based Post-Punk Rockers — bring a vintage flair to the forefront with the release of the single ‘Bye Bye Baby’ from their album Delusions.
‘Bye Bye Baby’ is a ballad through and through. Acoustic rhythm guitar is paired with moderate tempo percussion from end to end. Lead guitar licks are scattered far and wide for the duration as well.
While there is nothing wrong with the track (the production value and execution is solid) it doesn’t really captivate the listener in the manner that a great song often does. The instrumentation is rather one note, and, aside from a mini solo midway through and the assorted guitar licks mentioned above, there isn’t much more to it than that. Ultimately, while this track does have potential, upon first listen there isn’t much of a wow factor.
