Will 'The Newsroom' Dev Patel Star in Neill Blomkamp's Latest Film?

According to The Hollywood Reporter the 23-year-old star of Slumdog Millionaire is in talks to star in Chappie a follow-up to director/writer Neil Blomkamp’s yet to be released Elysium.  Not much is known about the movie other than it is based on the 2004 short film also directed by Blomkamp called Tetra Vaal.

Elysium is scheduled to be released August 9th, 2013 and stars Matt Damon and Jodie Foster.  Patel can be seen in the second season of HBO’s The Newsroom which premieres July 14th, 2013.
