Web Series of the Week: Morganville

You can thank Rachel for bringing this series to my attention because until her announcement that she had backed the series Kickstarter project I never would have heard of it.  After the crushing disappointment that was Breaking Dawn I have steered clear of most young adult series featuring creatures of the supernatural variety.  But after getting a ringing endorsement from Rachel I decided to look further into the series written by Rachel Caine.

As it turns out Morganville does vampires sure, but there’s a twist.  In these books the entire town is run by vampires.  The series main protagonist Claire Danvers is an insanely smart 16-year-old who because of her intelligence gets accepted in to the Texas Prairie University.  Claire is a bit of an outcast until the local vampires take an interest in her exceptional smarts.  The series follows Claire as she makes her way about balancing both the vampire and human world.

As of now the potential web series is in the beginning stages and the only person attached to the series is the amazingly talented Amber Benson best known as the better half of  Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s favorite couple Tara and Willow.
