Paradise Tour – Concert Review

Like many other fans, I discovered Before You Exit when they first started out. They were on tour with All Time Low – one of our favorite punk-pop bands. When I first heard that Before You Exit was separating from a punk-pop tour and going on tour with Cody Simpson I had mixed feelings. Is their genre of music changing? Were they ever really punk-pop?

I headed out to see Before You Exit on tour with Cody Simpson in Atlanta at the Cobb Energy PAC. There wasn’t a single bad or “nosebleed” seat in the venue, and unfortunately it wasn’t packed. I had thought Cody Simpson had built up quite a huge name for himself, and would sell more seats. None the less, the crowd was full of pre-teen girls, and I discovered why Before You Exit is such a wonderful fit for this tour.

With Toby joining the band, and being only 15, this crowd was perfect for them to get their name out there! It made me think that Before You Exit is not just a punk-pop band, and their music can fit in anywhere. They seem to not want to produce just music, but good quality music they love to play. They are pop, but what defines them is their fans, not their genre.

They took the stage and preformed with only a few problems. One being: Braiden was missing. If you are a newer BYE fan, you really just know the three brothers, but long term fans miss seeing Braiden and Thomas share the spot light. I truly respect when a band member chooses not to attend a tour because they really don’t make the decision lightly. I only question how long Braiden will stay in the band, being the member who started the group, and now only being part of the background.

The only other problem was the newest and cutest member of the band, Toby, failed to realize that his mic was not on during the duration of the performance. He’s the newest member of the band, and I give him a lot of credit for learning the processes so quickly. So, he is forgiven!

Would I recommend checking out BYE on tour in the future? Most definitely! They are great kids and deserve all the credit in the world.
