Verhoven is the latest electro-infused rock project founded by longtime collaborators Thrice Noble (vocals/synths) and Scott Glenn (guitars). Scrapping the emotional undertones of their former band Names of Stars, Verhoven opts for visceral immediacy with sharp synths and welded guitar lines. The lyrics envision futuristic worlds and characters, reflecting themes of sex, paranoia, intoxication, delusion, and ecstasy. The self-titled debut EP was released in three stages on vrhvn.com in May 2013 and contains a truly unconventional cover of the 1984 Hall & Oates hit “Out of Touch”.
