Buried Treasure Screening April 19th at the Humboldt Film Festival
Great news! Buried Treasure has its first public showing coming up! It will be screening in the Humboldt Film Festival on April 19, 2013 at 7pm in the JVD Theatre on the Humboldt State University campus, which is located in Arcata, California. Congratulations!
This evening Buried Treasure was accepted into the 46th Annual Humboldt Film Festival. This is a long running, well-known festival and we are very excited to begin showing the movie to the public. For those of you who don’t know, getting into these festivals is extremely difficult and competitive. I’m so thrilled we were able to reach yet another milestone with this project.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Humboldt International Film Festival is the oldest student-run film festival in the world. Every spring, the festival showcases short films from filmmakers all over the world. For forty-six years the Humboldt Film Festival has held onto the independent spirt and continue to represent the broad spectrum of film styles from hand drawn animation to guerilla documentaries that set the path to discover the real art of filmmaking. This year we invite you to submit your animated, narrative, documentary or experimental short films! Make the universe ‘Discover the Reel’ world of film!!
The Humboldt Film Festival has been bringing independent and alternative short films to Humboldt County for forty-five years. As the world’s oldest student-run film festival we have created a unique venue for traditional films and alternative digital media that enjoys an international reputation for supporting and celebrating independent filmmakers working in traditional, experimental and non-traditional modes. Founded in 1967 by a group of film-loving Humboldt State University students the Humboldt Film Festival has expanded over the years to feature several days of public screenings, workshops and presentations by guest filmmakers each spring. The festival promotes the art of film, not only as a means of entertainment, but also as a vehicle for self-expression and a stimulus for dialogue about social, political and cultural issues.
Also, a huge congrats to our leads of Buried Treasure, Eloise Mumford, who just booked and shot a pilot for ABC called Reckless; and to Gregg Henry, who will be recurring on the third season of The Killing. And congrats to our director Leslie Hope who will be recurring on Revolution for NBC.
Buried Treasure will screen Friday April 19, 2013 starting at 7pm in the JVD Theatre on the Humboldt State University Campus in Arcata, CA.
