We had a chance to catch up with Artist of the Week, Kady Z! Hear what she has to say about the Grammy’s, Goldfish Crackers, and London fashion week! You can also view her full feature here.

How would you describe your sound?

“It’s upbeat, fun and dancy! The lyrics are very real and relatable, but the music is fun and it makes you kind of happy!”

You recently released your single ‘Crashing Down’, what is the inspiration behind that song?

“Crashing Down is basically about keeping up appearances when everything in your life is falling apart, and keeping up a brave front. I think everyone can kind of relate to that!”

What is your favorite part of performing?

“I love the energy! I love the crowd and I love the fact that anything can go wrong because you’re live! It’s kind of one of those things where you get up there, and you don’t know what’s going to happen. You don’t know if you’re going to have a good show or a bad show, but it’s just whatever happens happens!”

Are you working on new music?

“Yes! We’re working on a full album coming out in July. We are in the studio all the time, it’s always a work in progress, but the album Ordinary Girl is set to come out in July!”

Do you have any exciting plans for this spring/summer?

“Yes, we are working on a tour, an acoustic tour! We’re going to be going back to the UK and just traveling around!”

Ideally, in five years where do you see yourself?

“I see myself doing the same thing, maybe at the Grammy’s, nominated this time! Just changing, and developing, and growing!”

What is your favorite city to play?

“We were just in London, we were there for fashion week, and it was so awesome! Everyone was so cool and the energy and the spirit of everything that was going on was so awesome! I think I would have to say London!”

What do you consider to be your greatest success?

“I was just at the Grammy’s, with the Fresh Face of the Year for the Grammy Foundation in conjunction with Herbal Essences and Oil of Olay, and I got to walk the red carpet and it was such a huge honor to get to be there at this point in my career, it was such a huge deal! I’m very excited and proud and thrilled and honored about that!”

Because we’re from Honest Reviews Corner, what is your honest review of Goldfish Crackers?

“I think they’re the best crackers in the world! And actually the sad part is I’m gluten intolerant so I haven’t been able to eat them in years! So now I’m waiting for them to come out with gluten free Goldfish Crackers!”
