Bio: The Background consists of Shaun Gunnels – Vocals, James Gonzalez – Guitar, Sean Bottoms – Bass and Ray Baumgratz – Drums. They grew up childhood friends and now are in a band together, making their dreams come true. They have performed shows with artists like NeverShoutNever, Action Item, Cady Groves, The Dangerous Summer, Sparks The Rescue, and more. They released an EP “Your Friends” in 2011 which can be found on iTunes. They also recently released a new single entitled “Okay” which can also be found on iTunes.
Why they are the band of the week: At HRC we immensely enjoy finding unsigned bands who have the talent and the personalities to make it big. The Background fits that category perfectly. These guys have the charisma, the talent and the looks to make their dream a reality. Their single “Okay” is extremely catchy, and their music video is quite enjoyable to watch! Fans of bands like Action Item or The Ready Set are sure to fall in love with The Background as much as we have at HRC!
