Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger ENGAGED!

Avril Lavigne (Singer, Actress, Designer, etc) and Nickelback Singer Chad Kroeger’s relationship has been on the Downlow, So low not many people even knew about it. Now, after a round about six-month realationship, the rockers are engaged to be married, Lavigne’s rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.
Lavigne, 27, and Kroeger, 37, first hooked up together in February to co-write a number for Lavigne’s upcoming fifth studio album.
“A romantic relationship blossomed as they spent time writing together,” an insider tells PEOPLE.
On Aug. 8, Kroeger asked for Lavigne’s hand in marriage with a beautiful, 14-carat diamond ring.
“He makes her so happy,” a family source tells PEOPLE. “Both of their families could not be more excited.”
This will be Kroeger’s first time getting married but not Lavigne’s who split from Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley in 2009.
