With season 3 just over 2 weeks away, here are just a few reminders from the season 2 finale to keep you caught up.
‘A’ was “UnmAsked” in the Season 2 finale.
As was revealed, Mona has been A due to her “living in a perpetual state of hyper-reality” and “the adrenaline rush that accompanied her feelings of empowerment and her high level of intelligence, fueled Mona’s ability to be seemingly all knowing and omnipresent” as explained by Dr. Sullivan. In the finale, Mona brought Spencer out to the Lost Woods Resort where they found ‘A’s lair and Mona revealed to Spencer that she was ‘A’. Mona then knocked out Spencer, put her in her car, and attempted to get her to either join the “‘A’ Team” or Mona was going to make her disappear.
Jenna is NOT blind.
In episode 1.02, “The Jenna Thing,” we found out that Alison, Hanna, Aria, Emily, and Spencer threw fireworks in to the garage where Jenna was and because of the fire and smoke she became blind. This past season, Jenna had an operation on her eyes to try and bring back partial vision. She told the girls and her stepbrother, Toby Cavanaugh, that the surgery did not work and she could not see. In episode 2.24, “If These Dolls Could Talk,” we find out at the very end of the episode that Jenna CAN see as she kills a fly with a rolled up newspaper. The REAL question is though: Could Jenna see the whole time and she was just making it up?
The Black Swan
While Spencer was in ‘A’s lair, she and Mona (who was unmAsked as ‘A’ as discussed in number 1) found a drawing of a costume: the Black Swan. Spencer thought this was ‘A’s costume. Of course ‘A’ is Mona, so now the big question is: WHO is the Black Swan?
Almost at the end of the season 2 finale as the four girls are walking home, they walk by Maya’s house which is surrounded by people and police. Emily’s mom informs Emily that they believe Maya was found dead.
The last 30 seconds of the episode show a person in a red coat visiting Mona. Whoever it was, was asking Mona to do everything she did. Seems that for this next season, red will be the new black.

Synopsis for Season 3 premiere, “It Happened That Night”:
A summer has passed since Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer found out about Mona being “A” and Maya’s death. With the terror seemingly over and an alleged murderer now behind bars, the town of Rosewood is slowly healing from old and new wounds and trying to get back to normalcy. Each of the four girls spent their summer in different ways – Aria taking a photography class, Spencer taking college courses at Hollis, Hanna taking cooking classes with Caleb and Emily building houses in Haiti. But what looks normal for each girl is not necessarily so, as all four are hardly over what happened. With post-traumatic stress, anger and the acquisition of more secrets the four Liars are anything but fine. Now all back together and coming upon the second anniversary of Alison’s disappearance, the girls find themselves back on the defensive when a shocking event rocks Rosewood.
