Bio: Renee Yohoe has finally kicked off her solo project BEARCAT. If you haven’t heard of Renee before, her voice has been compared to Fionna Apple, Kate Nash, and Zooey Deschananel. BEARCAT’S single “Silence Is Silver,” premiered on MTV Buzzworthy and the band’s first single, “Crazy Fishes,” premiered on Zooey’s own blog. Not only is Renee an amazing singer and songwriter, but she has a huge back story. To Write Love On Her Arms is based on her life. Her story has grown and been shared so much that there is a soon to be released film of her life entitled ‘Renee’ that stars Kat Dennings (as Renee Yohe) and Chad Michael Murray (as Jamie Tworkowski, founder of TWLOHA).
Why she is the Artist of the Week: Through music, books, film, and TWLOHA, Renee has been able to share the story of her life. She never imagined that her story would get so big and help so many people. We are really excited that we are able to feature Renee this week!
