Album Review: Tyler Hilton's "Forget the Storm"
Today Tyler Hilton released his third album, “Forget the Storm.” It was relesed through his very own label, Hoopie Tunes Records, in LA. There is something about Tyler Hilton in his very own recording studio that brings me back to Chris Keller, and with the finale of One Tree Hill right around the corner, there is no better time for this release.
The Album is Tyler Hilton’s very first independent release. The first single off the record was entitled “Prince of Nothing Charming” is slow but driven with great lyrics like “You love like you want it, fight like you need it tonight… it’s like you don’t know, baby you’re beautiful.” The next single “Loaded Gun” is fun and catchy and even appeared in the CW’s premiere of One Tree Hill season 9!The two-hour series finale will air tomorrow tonight april, April 4th make sure to watch to see the final things Tyler Hilton’s character, Chris Keller is up to.
Tyler Hilton expressed this album in his own words when he said “The songs and sounds of Forget the Storm came together as a reaction to the major label system and the heartbreak it kept putting me through,” said Hilton. “I left it all behind, started my own label and without all the rules and red tape I found it easier to write honest Americana Rock’n’Roll that is closer to who I am.”
I think for Tyler Hilton’s first album on his own record label he did a great job. The songs are catchy, the lyrics are passionate and the music is just right. Chris Keller himself could not have done a better job.
