It’s that time of year again! Phoenix Comicon is just 26 days, 10 hours, and–as of this posting–20-something minutes away, and they’ve got a great lineup for this year.
Media guests include actors, voice actors, authors, comic writers, and artists. Alan Tudyk, Arthur Darvill, Danny Trejo, Charlie Cox, and Michael Rosenbaum are just some of the big names from TV and film scheduled to appear at this year’s Phoenix Comicon event. Perhaps the most famous–and beloved–of the planned guests is the one, the only, Dick van Dyke!
That’s right, ladies and gents; Dick van Dyke, the 91-year-old bundle of energy and enthusiasm who has been a part of the childhoods of generations, has been announced for this year’s Phoenix Comicon. I myself loved Mary Poppins as a child, and I’ll break into songs from the film at random to this day.
It’s not just the stars of stage, screen, and television that are appearing at this year’s con; talented writers and authors from all over will be there as well. Comic favorites like Billy Tucci and Whilce Portacio will have booths for fans to meet and greet (and get those coveted autographs). Authors from all over will be in attendance, including the author of the acclaimed Outlander series Diana Gabaldon!
Guests aren’t the only things in store for this year’s Phoenix Comicon…there is plenty of programming to go around, with panels and contests for a range of ages, from Lego time for the kids to late-night adult panels. And don’t forget the most mesmerizing and overwhelming part of any con: the exhibitor hall! Every year at Phoenix Comicon I see amazing vendors, old and new, that bring comics, collectibles, and one-of-a-kind creations suitable for geeks of all ages and fans of all genres.
If you’re anywhere in the Southwest–or if you have a decent travel budget for the year–get your passes now and see what all the fuss is about!
