Ohio natives Plaid Brixx have joined We the Kings on the Kings’ 10-year anniversary tour!
Bringing a fresh feel to the pop genre, Plaid Brixx will complement We the Kings’ newer sound for 32 dates of the tour from February 17th to April 2nd.
The group formed in 2013 in Columbus, OH through the efforts of vocalist and guitarist Chris Duggan. Bassist and keyboardist Jared Sawaya, and drummer Mark LeRose joined Duggan as the rhythm section, completing the trio’s sound. Shortly after forming, Plaid Brixx debuted their first EP entitled Chemistry. Quickly, the group garnered attention and praise from pop culture commentators Buzzfeed, PureVolume, Diffuser, Guitar World, and ARTISTDirect. Success found the group swiftly when Chemistry was nominated for the “Best Rock EP of 2014” by the Independent Music Association.
This past year, Plaid Brixx released a self-titled EP that features their popular single “The Greener Side.”
Songwriter Universe praised Plaid Brixx and the single, stating, ” ‘The Greener Side’ is an infectious track with a catchy U.K. pop flavor to it. The recording has a pulsing EDM groove which sustains the momentum throughout…“
The Anthem Music included, “Upbeat, catchy, thoughtfully put together, Plaid Brixx certainly did their research on how to become alt-pop masters.”
Plaid Brixx has played with well-known acts throughout their short, yet prosperous career, including Kelsea Ballerini, Dove Cameron, Before You Exit, and Timeflies. Now, the band is enthusiastic to be sharing the stage with We the Kings, of whom the group has admired for some time.
On the announcement, Duggan stated, “We are so excited to be touring with We the Kings! We have been fans for a long time and are so grateful they chose us for their 10th anniversary tour.”
Plaid Brixx’s next show with We the Kings will be tomorrow, February 22nd, at House of Independents in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The rest of their tour dates can be found below.
