The Funeral Portrait Announces Album Release and Unveils Their New Music Video, “The Water Obeyed the Gravity”

unnamedAtlanta’s own alternative rockers, The Funeral Portrait, have announced their brand new album, A Moment of Silence is due out December 16, 2016. This will be their debut full-length album featuring 13 tracks including, “The Water Obeyed The Gravity” – which is premiering exclusively with Alternative Press. The band’s lead vocalist describes the album: “We went into recording A Moment Of Silence trying to display a more dangerous and honest side of The Funeral Portrait. Everything on this record is real and played from the heart.”

The five-piece band, whose line-up consists of vocalist Lee Jennings, guitarist/vocalist Juergie Sandstorm, guitarist AJ Pekarek, bassist Chris King, and drummer Stephen Danzey, blend elements of rock and roll, heavy metal, and what the band describes as “theatricore” with a pop sensibility to paint stories of love, loss, anger, and grief onto a canvas of skillfully crafted tunes.

Lead guitarist Juergie has this to say about the album: “A Moment of Silence is a story that explores one man’s journey through the afterlife. In this universe, there is eternity after death, but there is no god, and there is no heaven. This man has been told his entire life that when he died, he would be greeted by God at the gates of heaven. Now he must drift and observe, waiting for the truth to reveal itself.”

Hello, my name is Arlene Allen, and I love all things nerd: genre tv and movies, books, loud rock and roll music, kittens, conventions, books, graphic novels and superheroes, RPG and tabletop games, and did I say books? Oh, yes. I spent 25 years as a librarian (nerd) mainly working with youth (creating nerds), a number of years as a teacher (more nerd indoctrination). I have my own spawn, leveled up to 22 and my partner in nerdiness. As a nerdy writer, I have found a home at Talk Nerdy With Us.
